I would like to share my story about how I become one confident individual.
I grown up in the port located between China and Japan. My father runs fish market near to the port. He was typical traditional Korean who take care of whole family but didn't have time to play with their children.
He however always educated me to study hard Hanja (Chinese character used in Korea), but he does not push me hard to get good grade in school. So I listend to him. I took extra Chinese class during my summer vacation. The class was in very early morning class, when I went out it was still chilly dark chilly out there. Over about 2 month classes, I had very memorable feeling of achievement as young little girl.
My childhood was very joyful and I spend mid and high school as one average common student.
Everything turns out when I choose to major Chinese in my university. I enjoyed studying Chinese and also was good at it(!) This time reminded me of great feeling from the summer vacation class in my elementary school. Giving me again the smell of achievement from chilly morning at old time.
I can tell you if you start learning a new language, you will realize how fast the trust in yourself will grow. Especially, at the beginning of the learning process you will make efficient steps and they will keep you motivated.
From my universtity, When I started speaking a new language I received many positive feedback. Such experience pushed in my life and encouraged me to overcome things I have been afraid.
Everytime I faced an obstacle, I think in different view and reassess things in the other way. Psychologists from the university found that when people speak in a language other than their native tongue, it helps to simplify the decisions in life as we become more open-minded and adventurous.
So here I am who is working in one global sata science company, closely working with people across the world, got the best job I dreamed about. This is end of my story.
